Brahma Muhūrta Calculator

Brahma Muhūrta is a traditionally revered period of the late night, occurring immediately before sunrise, and is praised in Dharmaśāstra, Purāṇic, and Yogic literature as an ideal time for meditation, mantra japa, prayer, and self-study. Classical sources consistently place Brahma Muhūrta near the end of the night, when the qualities of sattva are said to predominate and the mind is naturally calm, focused, and receptive.

In traditional timekeeping, the night (sunset to sunrise) is divided into fifteen equal parts called muhūrtas. Brahma Muhūrta corresponds to the fourteenth muhūrta before sunrise, beginning fourteen muhūrta-lengths prior to sunrise and ending thirteen muhūrta-lengths before sunrise. Because night length varies by season and latitude, the exact timing of Brahma Muhūrta is not fixed by the clock, but changes throughout the year.

This calculator follows that traditional method, computing Brahma Muhūrta dynamically based on actual sunrise and sunset times for the selected date and location.
